About the Role

JOB TITLE: Senior Client Accountant

ROLE TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

LOCATION/HYBRID: Hertfordshire, Hybrid Working (3 days office, 2 days from home)

HOURS/DAYS (per week): 5 days per week - 9am to 5.30pm (mon-fri)

SALARY RANGE: Up to £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)

NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS: 3 months' probation, notice period 1 month

COMPANY CULTURE: A well-established boutique Accounting Practice with a loyal client base and long serving team members. This firm of Accountants are a very supportive team who work closely together to service their clients professionally and effectively.

JOB ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- Preparation of accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships to a good standard and be able to review the work of others.
- Preparation of VAT returns and some minimal bookkeeping.
- Reviewing sole trade accounts, limited company accounts, VAT
returns and management accounts - dealing with queries and presenting final figures to partner for review.
- Sending final packs to clients to sign and filings at Companies House and HMRC.
- Payroll processing knowledge would be an advantage.
- Assisting the partner with ad hoc tasks which will enable the candidate to grow and learn.
- A strong technical knowledge is needed in accounts preparation (basic tax compliance) and especially the interaction of dividends, directors accounts and P11Ds. Proficient use of Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems such as Xero.

ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Must be at least AAT qualified or studying for ACCA.
- Must have Full UK Right to Work (no sponsorship).
- Management of client portfolio experience would be an advantage.
- Proficient using cloud-based software such as Xero, and Microsoft Office packages.
