About the Role
JOB TITLE: Management Accountant / Experienced Bookkeeper
ROLE TYPE: Full time, Permanent
LOCATION: Chelmsford, Essex. Office Based Role
HOURS / DAYS (per week): Full time 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday 9:00-17:30 with 1 hour for lunch)
SALARY RANGE: £37,000 - £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)
NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS: 6 month probationary period, 3 months' notice once probation passed
BENEFITS/BONUSES/HOLIDAYS: 28 days holiday per annum pro-rata (inc. bank holidays), increasing 1 per year after 5 years' service. Monthly social events. Ongoing training and personal development plans.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful Management Accountant will work within a team of 5 including the Manager and will be responsible for carrying out various Management Accounting duties such as liaising with clients, bookkeeping and producing management accounts and reports both monthly and quarterly.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited too):
- Bookkeeping (sales/purchase ledgers, bank rec, creditor/debtor reporting, prepayments/accruals/journals, cashflows, monitoring client emails)
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain information
- Producing management accounts and reports (monthly and quarterly)
- VAT Returns

- Good problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated/proactive with strong initiative and willingness to take ownership and responsibility of their own work
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently (must be a team player)
- A desire to develop good technical accounting knowledge
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisation and time management skills

- Ability to swiftly adapt to change
ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- SAGE, QuickBooks, Xero experience preferable
- Good basic accounting/bookkeeping knowledge e.g. bank reconciliation, sales ledger reconciliation etc
- Experience working on Microsoft applications such as excel, outlook and word
- Experience of working in a practice preferable (3 years' experience is ideal)
APPRENTICESHIP COURSES/LEVELS (if applicable):
- AAT level 4 min (inc. those awaiting results)
