About the Role
JOB TITLE: Personal Tax Manager
ROLE TYPE: Permanent/Full Time, hybrid working (except between October to Janaury each year)
LOCATION: North London, London
HOURS / DAYS (per week): 5 days (Monday to Friday), 37.5 hours per week, hybrid working 1 day per week from home (except between October to January each year)
SALARY RANGE: £55,000 to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS: 6 months' probation / Notice of 1 week up to 3 months, then notice of 1 month after 3 months
BENEFITS / BONUSES / HOLIDAYS: 25 Days Annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays

JOB DESCRIPTION (Includes but not limited to): My client are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Personal Tax Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing personal tax returns, providing expert tax advice, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent client service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.You will be responsible for overseeing/'managing' the Tax department, with the support of an Assistant who will be working closely with you providing support.
RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- Prepare and file personal income tax returns for a diverse client base.
- Review financial records such as income statements, expense documents, and previous tax returns to determine the correct tax filing.
- Advise clients on tax planning and tax-saving strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and clarify complex tax issues.
- Represent clients in dealings with tax authorities, including audits and inquiries.
- Identify opportunities to optimise tax positions and mitigate tax liabilities.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial data and client information.
- Assist clients with tax-related questions and concerns throughout the year, not just during tax season.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
KEY SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser) qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal tax preparation and advisory services.
- Thorough understanding of UK tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software and financial analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with confidential information.
